In continuing our journey through the various F&B venues in each of Coleman’s office cities, we are highlighting our employees’ recommendations for New York City this week! This city guide completes our US office locations with Boston, Raleigh and San Francisco. Next stop…our international offices!
While it may feel like there’s a Starbucks on every corner in NYC, this is one of just six Reserve Roastery venues around the world! In New York we are privileged to host a Reserve location that features the rarest, most extraordinary coffees the company offers. At location, they host sessions on brewing, aging, infusing, and blending – all to create uniquely celebrated coffee creations to enjoy. Try a truffle pairing at the Experience Bar, where your coffee experience is enhanced with a curated selection of chocolate truffles. Or head to the Main Bar to try their Cold Brew Flight- one served the traditional way, and the other infused with nitrogen! And if you’re fancying a cocktail, be sure to stop by the Arriviamo Bar, which offers a variety of craft cocktails like their Black & White Manhattan (coffee-based) and Rosso Bianco (tea-based).
Looking for a bar with a view in Midtown NYC? Situated 54 stories above Times Square is Bar 54, which is also the highest bar in all of Midtown! Enjoy views of the Chrysler Building and Lower Manhattan from Bar 54’s large outdoor terrace while sipping on a cold local beer or a cocktail from their long list of craft and classic creations. This is the perfect spot for a happy hour get together, or just a great go-to place to check out the sights!
Meat lovers of NYC can all agree—Smith & Wollensky serves up one mean steak dinner. Offering the classic steakhouse menu with a beautiful seafood selection, Smith & Wollensky is the place to go when you’re looking to splurge a little on a big and beautiful meal. Their steaks are dry aged in-house and the coconut cake is to-die-for. Fun fact: Smith & Wollensky aren’t the owners—they were two randomly selected names from a New York City phone book in 1977!
At Koi, Japanese cuisine meets uniquely modern vibes and fresh ingredients. This restaurant takes Asian-fusion to another level, from its intriguing interior and atmosphere to its carefully curated menu fit to accommodate any appetite. Favorites on the menu include Koi Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Cucumber Sunomono, and the Northern Lights Roll. Bonus points for the knowledgeable and kind waitstaff, as well as the awesome cocktail menu! Weekend night in NYC? You can’t go wrong with a Broadway show followed by dinner at Koi.
Master Chocolatier Jacques Torres
When it’s time for dessert or a sweet mid-day treat, head to “Jacques Torres”. World famous pastry chef and chocolatier Jacques Torres’s gourmet chocolate stores are like a scene from a movie! The wide selection of chocolatey treats and gifts is bound to brighten your day. Choose from barks, brittles, cookies, and bars, to ice cream and hot chocolate. The options are seemingly endless— a few must-try items are the milk chocolate pretzels, dark chocolate almonds, and, for the more adventurous chocolate lovers, the “Wicked” hot chocolate, which consists of allspice, cinnamon, ground ancho chili peppers, ground chipotle chili peppers, and 70% dark chocolate!
