Raleigh to New York: My Coleman Journey

Raleigh to New York: My Coleman Journey

I grew up in a small town in North Carolina called Rocky Mount. I studied Business and Communications at East Carolina University before moving to Raleigh where I began my career. When I started at Coleman, I was focused on the Tech, Media and Telecom industries working as a Research Associate. In this role, I was responsible for identifying and recruiting the most relevant experts for our clients’ research projects. In January 2017, I became a Client Manager. As a CM (as we’re known here at Coleman), I lead a team of Associates to meet business and revenue goals. Moving into this role, I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed meeting with my clients, hosting events and growing those relationships. Despite my deep Carolina roots, I jumped at the opportunity to move to New York City in November 2017 where I could be more integrated with my clients and my new team as well.

I really love it here…minus the perils of grocery shopping and the ridiculously cold weather. On the plus side professionally, I’m really enjoy being so close to my clients. It’s super easy to meet for coffee, go out to lunch or meet for a few drinks after work. The atmosphere in New York is unlike anywhere else – everyone is extremely motivated and driven to succeed. Personally, I’ve really enjoyed getting out and exploring everything that NYC offers from museums to restaurants, various boroughs around the city, and more. Next on my NYC bucket list: more pizza, comedy shows, and seeing Jimmy Fallon Live…maybe.
